Whilst based in London, I formed, led, and arranged music for the brass ensemble project æðelfrìth. The group performed music from the British Isles, Ireland and Nordic Regions, celebrating a shared North Sea culture. The name is a creative twist on an old Anglo-Saxon name, in use between the 6th–11th centuries, as a nod to a time where cultural identities were being forged through artistic exchange across the region.

The group was centred around the nucleus of a standard brass quintet, supplemented on different occasions by percussion, harps, and additional brass. The ensemble performed numerous recitals across the UK, including a broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune series, the Ryedale Festival (Yorkshire), and recital series at Hampton Court Chapel, St Martin in the Fields, and St John’s Smith Square (London). Repertoire ranged from chamber music from the 16th-century courts, to contemporary commissions and inventive adaptations.
